An MVA on USH 11 south of the village sent to people to Canton Potsdam Hospital. The original call for the accident placed its location on USH 11 south of DeKalb Junction. Hermon Rescue and DeKalb Junction Fire were dispatched. A correct location was determined and Canton Fire and Rescue were dispatched at 0647 to USH 11 in the vicinity of the Rice Road. First Assistant Chief Robert Crowe requested that Hermon Rescue and DeKalb Junction Fire continue to the scene as they were only about a mile from the accident site. Rescue 1 and Ambulance 133 responded out of Canton. The accident, involving a Chevrolet Cobalt and a Ford F-350 dually deisel pick up, resulted in only minor injuries to two passengers in the pick up. These patients were transported by Hermon Rescue to Canton Potsdam Hospital. All occupants of the vehicles were out on arrival of emergency responders and were very lucky. A few more feet and this could have been a head on crash with a much worse outcome. Fire personnel remained on scene to control traffic while the vehicles were removed by Johnson's Towing and Recovery and Martin's Wrecker service. All units were back in service at 0930 hours.
