Members of the Canton Fire Department joined members of other emergency service organizations and the public for a 9/11 Memorial Service at SUNY Canton to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the tragic events at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Ladder trucks from Canton and Potsdam dispayed a large American flag high above the ceremony. Third Assistant Chief Erik Johnson spoke to the attendees about the strengh of courage it took for the emergency responders to enter the buildings knowing it could be their final alarm. The members of the Canton Fire Department ask everyone not to forget those brothers and sisters who made the supreme sacrifice that fateful day in their heroic effort to save the lives of thousands.
