The Passing of the Gavel

The Canton Fire Department and Rescue Squad held its Annual Meeting on Friday April 13th, 2007. After hearing the year end reports from the Secretary and the Treasurers, the election of officers was held with outgoing Chief Mike Morgan in the Chair. The results are as follows:

Chief of Department - Michael Dalton
1st Assistant Chief - Robert Crowe
2nd Assistant Chief - Erik Johnson
3rd Assistant Chief - Brian McCluskey
Secretary - Donald Thompson
Treasurer, Local Fund - Michael Morgan
Treasurer, Rural Fund - Olen Bristol
Assistant Treasurer, Rural Fund - Robert Grandaw, Jr.
Member At Large, Fire - Charles Gray
Member At Large, EMS - Jessica Thompson

Newly elected Chief Dalton presented Past Chief Morgan with his Past Chief helmet, along with a token of appreciation for his years of dedicated service to the department as its leader. He oncluded the presentation by installing Chief Morgan's photo among his predecessors and his nameplate on the list of Past Chiefs.

Afterward an absolutely delicious meal was had by all, prepared by Joyce Dalton and Dave Stacy with the assistance of many others throughout the day.
