The Canton Fire Department was requested by Frankiln County and the New York State Office of Fire Prevention of Control to be a part of a task force to provide coverage to Westville FD and Constable FD in northern Frankiln County during the LODD funeral of Constable Assistant Chief Timothy J. Lamere. Chief Lamere passed away in August 21 following a training session the previous evening. Tower 1 from Canton Fire, along with Engine 48 and Rescue 30 from Potsdam Fire, and additional personnel from West Stockholm Fire, formed the task force and provided coverage from the Westville Fire Station from 6 AM to 6 PM. In addition the task force was available county wide as it would be the only in service aerial during the funeral services. The task force did not catch a run but we were honored to be able to assist our brother and sister firefighters in Franklin County in their time of need. Special thanks go to Chief Jamie Gratton and the members of the Westville Fire Department for being such gracious hosts.
