After many delays, Canton Fire finally accepted delivery of a new Seagrave pumper on January 11, 2012. The new engine will replace a 1986 Sanford that has served the department well.
Committee members Mike Morgan, Shawn McGregor, Dave Corbett, Rob Larrabee, Rusty Lawrence, and Bill Bennett began work over a year ago and quickly settled on Seagrave as the builder. Committee members traveled to Wisconsin in March for a pre-engineering conference and again in November for a final inspection.
The engine is a custom built stainless steel Seagrave cab and chassis with a 500HP Cummins engine and a 2000GPM pump.
Many thanks to Seagrave's Denny Warren for all his help designing, building, and providing training after delivery.
The committee also thanks Chief Michael Dalton for his help and support.
