At 22:46 hours St Lawrence County Central Dispatch dropped the tones for Canton Fire an Engine to respond to Pierrepont Fire Station for a stand by as they were at a house fire in Colton on the Gulf Road. Engine 8 responded with a full crew to proceed to Pierrepont Station. As soon as Engine 8 arrived at PPFD firehouse, Colton Incident Command requested Engine 8 to respond to scene for assistance with overhaul. Upon arrival of Engine 8, Canton firefighters were ordered to the 3rd floor of the house to overhaul and find hidden hotspots to prevent a rekindle of the fire. Canton Firefighters searched thoroughly in an extensive overhaul to completely extinguish the fire.
All occupants evacuated the house prior to Colton FD arrival, and there were no Canton Firefighter injuries reported. All Canton equipment was back in service by 01:34 hours.
