Thursday evening a number of members of Canton Fire and Rescue and mutual aid members from various departments took part in a combined drill in the P&C parking lot. The "call" was for a 2 car MVA and when Third Assistant Chief McClusky assumed incident command he reported 6 victims and extrication would be needed on at least one of the vehicles. EMT-CC Tyler Clark Assumed EMS Command. Arriving crews found a pickup truck on top of a four door car. The vehicles were quickly stabilized using the Rescue 42 struts and cribbing. Firefighters made quick work of a small simulated fire that had started in the vehicles while other firefighters used the hydraulic spreaders to gain access to the victims. EMS crews treated and transported 6 victims in order of severity of injuries and there was one simulated fatality. All victims were extricated in approximately 40 minutes.
