| At approximately 17:15 hours, Canton Fire Department and Canton Rescue units, including Car 4, were dispatched to a reported two-vehicle motor vehicle accident. Initial dispatch information indicated one injured party with no occupant entrapment.
Canton Ambulance 132 arrived first on the scene, immediately establishing a medical sector and initiating patient assessment. Shortly thereafter, command vehicles 4-1 and 4-2 arrived to assume incident command and coordinate operational response.
Upon arrival of secondary command personnel, active scene safety and traffic management protocols were established. Fire personnel promptly deployed traffic control measures around the collision perimeter to mitigate secondary collision risks, protect operating emergency personnel, and maintain steady traffic flow to prevent congestion and delays along the corridor. Rescue 1 arrived on scene to assist with physical hazard abatement and roadway cleanup. Crew members cleared collision debris, glass, and residual vehicular fluids from the travel lanes, ensuring the roadway was fully safe for normal vehicular travel.
EMS personnel from Ambulance 132 conducted a primary and secondary survey of the injured occupant. Responders confirmed that no mechanical extrication was required. After initial stabilization on scene, the patient was prepared for transport. Ambulance 132 departed the scene non-delayed, transporting the individual to the local receiving hospital for further evaluation and definitive medical care.
Following the departure of the transport unit and the safe clearance of the roadway, command was terminated, and all Canton Fire and Rescue units cleared the scene and returned to service. |
