Canton Fire responded to its second working fire within five hours when dispatched to 159 Potter Road for a reported camper trailer fire at 12:38 am. Chief Johnson arrived on scene at 12:44 and found a tow-behind camper fully involved, with flames spreading to a utility trailer and threatening multiple nearby structures. He requested the Tanker Task Force for additional water supply.

Engine 7 (Gavin) responded at 12:45 and arrived at 12:56. Tanker 20 (Crowe) arrived shortly after. Crews stretched handlines from Engine 7 and quickly brought the fire under control. The Tanker Task Force was cancelled when the available water supply on scene proved sufficient to fully extinguish the blaze.

The St. Lawrence County Fire Investigation Team was requested to determine the cause and origin of the incident. Canton Fire received assistance from the New York State Police, St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, Canton Rescue, and County Car 4. No injuries to fire service personnel or civilians were reported. Ten members of Canton Fire responded, and all units were back in service at 1:47 am.
