At 1458 hours, Canton Fire was dispatched on a mutual aid response to West Potsdam Fire for a house fire at the intersection of County Route 14 and the Buck Road. The initial request was for a tanker and manpower to the scene. Rescue 1 (B. McCluskey) was enroute at 1500 with Rescue 36 (Morgan) and Tanker 20 (E. Johnson) responding shortly after. After arriving on scene, crews were assigned to assist with interior fire suppression along with members from West Potsdam Fire, Potsdam Fire, Madrid Fire, and Morley Fire. West Potsdam incident commander Chief Justin Pierce requested Tower 1 to respond to assist with overhaul of the exterior roof to complete the extinguishment of the fire. Tower 1 (Dalton) set up on the roadway in front of the house and the crew removed roofing and facia trim to expose remaining hot spots. Fourteen members responded and all Canton Crews were back in service at 1705 hours.
