With the first storm of the new year in the books, members are thankful for a day or two of calm. Canton Fire personnel began staffing the fire station at 6 pm on Tuesday. Our first call came in at 9:34 pm. Over the next 15 hours the department was dispatched to 26 incidents. In addition, members stopped multiple times responding to, or returning from, the dispatched calls to remove road hazards that they came upon while travelling. All told 26 members answered these calls and at one point there were 4 different crews and apparatus out on incidents. We would like to thank the Morley Fire Department for assisting with several calls on Wednesday morning. You can rest assured that when the next storm rolls in, we will again be prepared and out there answering calls. As our motto says, "Neighbors helping neighbors since 1869"
