Tower 1 was on the road for the second time in two days to a mutual aid structure fire. This time it travelled the 22 miles to the Ogdensburg riverfront for a high-rise fire at Riverview Towers. Canton was requested to respond at 1102 and was on the road at 1109. Arriving at 1128, Tower 1 was assigned to take a position to remove occupants via aerial. The remaining crew reported to staging for assignment inside the buildings. Crews assisted with salvage , overhaul, ventilation, and removal of residents from the building via the stairs and over the aerial. This was a complex operation on a scale seldom seen in the county. All Canton units and the 15 members who responded were back in service at 1338.
