At 2349 hours Canton Fire was requested by Gouverneur Fire Chief Tom Conklin to respond Tower 1 to a working fire at the Dunn Paper Mill at 5129 SH 58. A fire had started inside in the area of a paper dryer and extended to the roof. Tower 1 and Rescue 36 were enroute at 0002 hours and arrived on scene at 0032. Members assisted Gouverneur firefighters with roof operations. The fire was extinguished with minimal damage and the mill resumed operations the following morning. Seven members responded and all Canton units were back in service at 0247 hours.
