Canton Fire & Rescue was requested as automatic mutual aid to Morley Fire for a reported structure fire in a detached garage. Engine 8, TA-20, Rescue 1 and A-131 responded immediately to the CR-14 scene. Upon arrival, Engine-8's crew went to work assisting members from Morley Fire who were already executing an aggressive interior attack on the second floor of the garage. The fire was brought under control about 20-minutes later. Firefighters ultimately utilized AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam) to smother remaining embers due to the type of building contents during the overhaul phase to ensure the fire would not rekindle. Canton Fire and Rescue was back in service at 23:30. This is the second garage fire in as many weeks in our mutual aid response area.
