This year will mark 150 years of service to the Canton community by the Canton Fire Department. To celebrate this momentous occasion, the department is planning a celebration later this year. In preparation for this celebration a committee of members is gathering materials to document our history and showcase the department's progress since the last milestone event, the 100th anniversary in 1969. The department is looking for help from the members of the community, members of neighboring departments, and past members of the Canton Fire Department to provide photos and momentos from incidents and events in which the Canton Fire Department responded and/ or participated. Photos, vidoes, home movies are being sought as well as other historical items from the department's past. We would look to digitize all that we can and return the originals to the owner if they desire as well as display and then return any historical items that may be loaned for the event.
