| On October 13th, members of the Canton Fire Department gathered at Appleton Arena to sell 50/50 tickets at the St. Lawrence University Men's Division 1 hockey game to benefit fellow firefighter, Past Chief Olen "Rip" Bristol. Rip has been at Fletcher Allen Medical Center since June 27th and is recovering slowly but surely at this time. Through their unique sales tactics and strong arm techniques, the members were able to raise $472 for Rip and his family. On October 20th, a drawing was held for another 50/50 raffle that had been held over the course of the past month. The winner of this raffle dontaed his winnings back to Rip and his family resulting in a donation of $1276 being passed on to the Bristol Family to help with their ongoing expenses. The Canton Fire Deparment would like to thank all those who participated in these two drawings and ask that you keep Rip and his family in your thoughts and prayers. |
